Carla Cameron BA (hons), QTS – Principal
“Stardust dancers, create the dreams.”
It was principal Carla Cameron’s goal to give local youngsters the opportunity to take part in fun, professional classes and to have exciting dance performance opportunities. After her own extensive performing, Carla wanted to enable others to follow in her footsteps; therefore Stardust Dance Academy was born.
Carla is a qualified primary school teacher, has a first class honours degree in Dance and is members of the BGA, BTDA and Zumba fitness. The academy’s dream has become a reality with dancers performing in shows, carnivals and festivals around the country, including performances at The Queens and Her Majesty’s theatres, London, as well as annually at The Royal Albert Hall.
Carla would like to thank the dancer’s for making her dreams come true. Spread the Stardust. x
Beccy Jay – Manager
I play a vital role in both the Solihull and Sutton Stardust Academies. I’m an energetic, inspiring, professional dance and gymnastics teacher, who is seen as approachable by students, staff and parents. I am a member of the BTDA and BGA.
Over the last eight years, I have taught in over twenty five academic schools, receiving an Outstanding OFSTED report in PE and dance practice. I am able to teach a variety of different styles to a range of ages.
After the success of Stardust Solihull, with the help of Carla, I set up Stardust Sutton. It has now grown from strength to strength offering eight different classes to all ages and abilities. In 2015 they will be performing in their first Chance To Dance and BDTA medal tests.
My experiences include: 2007 – Present. Choreographing routines in the large scale production of Mardi Gras, which takes place at the Royal Albert Hall.
2011 – Present. Choreographing routines in the Young Performers show at Her Majesty’s Theatre, London
2007 – Present. Leading students successfully trough the professional BTDA process.
2013. Worked alongside the local community creating engaging, exciting performances for fundraising events.
